Confusiones Comunes con Pronombres en Inglés

En ocasiones mis alumnos dicen cosas como “My son, she is 16” o “It is my children” en lugar de “They are my children”.

“He”, “she”, “they”, y “it” son pronombres en inglés.

Alguna vez te has preguntado ¿Qué es un pronombre? Los pronombres son pequeñas palabras utilizadas en lugar de un sustantivo, para que no tengas que seguir repitiendo el sustantivo. Un ejemplo muy sencillo, en vez de “Eliane is playing with Eliane’s doll in the garden of Eliane’s family” puedes decir**:**

“Eliane is playing with her doll in their garden”.

“I”, “she”, “he”, “they”, y “it” son pronombres personales. Los pronombres personale se refieren a una persona o cosa y cambia su forma para indicar persona, género, número, y caso. Por ejemplo, aquí encontraras distintos pronombres en inglés:

“The man travelled to Russia. He went there on business. The taxi drove him to airport. When he got there he found that he had left his itinerary behind. It was in his study. He rang his wife and she was able to give him all the information he needed.”
